tumblr

Are you on tumblr?

I've been on tumblr for a few years now, but it's only sort of recently that I've been using it on a somewhat regular basis. Like a lot of other "social media" (or whatever) sites, there are good things and bad things about tumblr. I've seen some pretty terrible stuff on there, but I've also seen a lot of really amazing things, too. Sometimes I can be sort of sensitive to the incessant bombardment of images, but I really love curating and "collecting" images that appeal to me and inspire me.

I know a lot of users have issues with their terms, and to be honest, I'm not really sure what's rumor and what's fact (I confess that I've never fully read the terms page carefully all the way through and I really ought to do that).

Overall, my tumblr is my happy place. Every time I look at my tumblr I just think to myself ahhhhh, if only there was a way I could somehow live inside here because I love all of this stuff and it is so perfect.

BRB, figuring out a way I can move in!

Here's the link to follow me, if that's your kind of thing :) - http://www.tumblr.com/follow/jennyfuture

  1. Hi there! I have been on tumblr since maybe 2009-2010-ish, I think? For the most part I adore tumblr. I think it's blogging for lazy-bloggers and that fits me to a "T". The one thing that drives me nuts about it is a lack of proper crediting to artists and creators. I don't have many soapboxes, but if you get me going on that subject, I will never shut up!

    1. I totally agree with you re: crediting! And even when credit is given, it's kind of hazy because some creators (understandably!) still don't want their content shared on sites like tumblr and pinterest, etc, because of the sites' terms. As a user, I just try to always credit when posting to tumblr, add credit when reblogging things where it's missing (when I can find it, using tools like reverse image search), and respect creators' wishes if they don't want their content shared at all.
